Our Team

In order for our children to succeed, our guides, parents, Board of Directors, Business Manager and Principal all have important roles to play. Each role is critical to the continued success and growth of our Montessori school and curriculum.


  • Our Guides work with each child based on their unique learning needs
  • They recognize that parents are the most influential individuals in their child’s learning and have intimate knowledge of their needs
  • They work as active partners with parents in educating children and promoting their optimal development
  • Our Guides are committed to the authentic Montessori pedagogical approach


Are welcome to become involved in their children’s education by:


  • Attending observation sessions of their child’s learning environment
  • Reviewing and responding to written reports on their child’s progress
  • Conferencing with guides
  • Attending parent information sessions on various aspects of the Montessori pedagogy
  • Supporting the Montessori philosophy of the school by learning about Montessori education through the reading of various articles and literature on the Montessori method
  • Inviting friends and neighbours to MSC’s open houses and events
  • Attending the Annual General Meeting each Fall
  • Supporting fundraising and school spirit events
  • Volunteering

Volunteer Board of Directors

  • Is entrusted to work within the school’s philosophies and mission statement
  • Responds positively to parents’ concerns and refers concerns to the Principal
  • Makes viability related financial decisions
  • Plans for the future of the school


  • Manages the business operations and keeps the Boad or Directors updated on all business related matters
  • Develops the annual budget in collaboration with the Principal
  • Oversees the school’s fundraising activities
  • Has the role of admissions officer
  • Maintains the student records
  • Coordinate’s school wide special events


  • Implements the school’s philosophy and mission statement on a day-to-day basis
  • Provides a vision for the future of the school
  • Is responsible, ultimately, for the delivery of Montessori programming true to the school’s mission and the principles of the school’s membership with the CCMA
  • Works with the Business Manager to prepare and oversee the school’s budget and sees that facilities support programs
  • Is the school’s official representative to the outside community
  • Is responsible for all hiring of staff and personnel matters
